UFC President Dana White has a theory as to why Dustin Poire’s wife sent a DM to Conor McGregor on Instagram.
Jolie, a 51-year-old woman, believes she contacted Poirier McGregor on social media to discuss the charity Poiriers promised to donate to the Good Fight Foundation.
In an interview with Newsmax TV, Dana White spoke about Jolie Poire’s Instagram DM poll sent to Conor McGregor. Asked why he thinks Dustin Poire tried to contact his wife, Conor McGregor, White replied:
“So, a; I haven’t heard, but I think there was a huge amount of beef between the two camps in exchange for Pirie’s charity. I’m sure the woman asked for help with the money set aside for charity.” . “
Newsmax news anchor Greg Kelly then insisted that Dana White’s idea was the only theory of what it was. White replied:
“I can assure you that she (Jolie Poir) addressed this.” (* Video courtesy: Newsmax; H / T Sportskeeda for transcription)
Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier fought for the first time at UFC 178 (September 2014), the first of which was won by TKO in the first round.
The duo’s return match took place at UFC 257 (January 2021). Pirie defeated McGregor in the second round by technical knockout.
The construction of the two quarrels was extremely different. In the first fight, Conor McGregor launched iron-free combat attacks against Dustin Poyer. However, the Irishman showed great respect before the return match.
Prior to the rematch, McGregor had even promised to donate $ 500,000 to the Good Struggle Foundation.
But over the next few months, Dustin Poirier took to social media, claiming that Conor McGregor had “ghosted” him and his team. Poirier claimed McGregor and his team were not responding to reports of donations.
The Irishman fired at Pirier, advising his team to simply know where and what the donated money would be spent.
Conor McGregor noted that Dustin Poiri and his team were not providing him with the information he needed, so the donation has not yet been confirmed. The war of words escalated from there, leading to their July 10, 2021 trilogy fight at UFC 264.
A few days before the UFC 264 fight, Conor McGregor posted a screenshot of an Instagram DM poll on social media, claiming that Jolie Poire had sent it to him. Dustin Poirier, in turn, claimed that the screenshot was fake.
The war of words lasted until the duo stepped into the octagon.
The fight between Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier didn’t end in UFC 264
