Colin Cowherd added another Mayfield to his list of fights this week.
The radio host had a problem with Baker Mayfield’s wife, Emily, who defended the Browns defender against fan criticism.
On Monday, Emily called the Browns fans on Instagram, accusing Baker of the team’s 47-42 defeat to the Chargers. Cowherd, on Wednesday, picked the situation and noted Baker’s many commercials.
“Excuse me, how many national ads does he have?” Cowherd said on his Fox Sports radio show that he has frequently attacked the defender over the years.
“He never asked me to confess to him,” and “he won’t be given any credit,” Kowerd said.
“No one in league history, since I showed up, has had more national commercials and 500 defenders in a small market … He has one win in the playoffs. He gets a lot of credit. ”
Cowerd also recalled that Tom Brady “refused to advertise for years” when he played in New England.
Cowherd said Mayfield’s quarterback defenders aren’t as talented as Justin Herbert, Lamar Jackson, Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen.
He added that his sources include scouting in the league, as well as defenders Joe Burrow and Trevor Lawrence over Mayfield.
However, Cowherd said “Baker was good” and “not a problem” in Sunday’s game against the “chargers.” Mayfield moved from 235 to 32, with a 305-yard jump, two assists and zero interceptions. He was fired once.
The Browns (3-2) will play the Cardinals (5-0) at home on Sunday of the 6th week.
