NBA stars past and present weighed in on the big race to the video board between Charles Barkley and Kenny Smith on Tuesday’s “Inside the NBA” on TNT.
During halftime of Game 5 in the Mavericks-Suns Western Conference semifinals series, Barkley and Smith turned their chairs and raced to the board – an “Inside the NBA” staple that beloved by fans.
Barkley appeared to touch the board a millisecond before Smith, and NBA Twitter went wild. The “NBA on TNT” Twitter account conducted a poll to determine the winner, in which voters declared Barkley victorious by a landslide.
“YES !!! CHUCK WON, ”Lakers star LeBron James tweeted, adding a No. 1 ribbon emoji. “Let’s go Chuck,” he wrote in a second tweet, with a bunch of crying-laughing emojis.
NBA legend Bill Russell tweeted a smiling photo of himself, while holding a thumbs-up, and announced his winner.
“Tie goes to the Chuckster,” Russell tweeted. “I Guarantee it @NBAonTNT sorry @TheJetOnTNT.”
