WWE removed several Superstars from the NXT list as part of a rebranding, resulting in NXT 2.0. That included Bobby Fish, who was released from WWE earlier this year. Since then, Bobby Fish has made his way to the major wrestling leagues and then signed by the AEW.
Bobby Fish competed as a group alongside Kyle O’Reilly in NXT and other stocks. Now that she’s a Fish Red Dragon and no doubt left her partner at WWE for the period, she’s back to being a single star again.
When talking Kris Van Vliet, Bobby Fish talked about going from team wrestling to individual competition. That had changed a lot, but Bobby Fish was ready for something new.
“I think you feel good, you need to give yourself time,” Bobby Fish said. “But I don’t think it’s easy if you’ve done it for a long time, but you know it’s going to happen. Sometimes you have to be patient about it.”
In both cases, as in everything else, they have their pros and cons. But we are nearing the end of our run, Kyle [O’Reilly] and I stopped tagging, mostly doing singles. Then moving to NXT, it became labeling for a few years, mostly. I don’t know how to classify the end of my run, but now I’m back to the singles type and I’m happy with that. ”
Bobby Fish is set to compete with Bryan Danielson in this week’s episode of AEW Saturday Night Dynamite. We’ll have to wait and see what Bobby Fish will be like at AEW, but he’s starting off very well and in a winning attitude.
