Just days before his last game in the NFL, Steelers midfielder Ben Roethlisberger said Wednesday that it was “great” to end his 18-year career in the city where he played for the first time in Baltimore.

“My first game in the NFL was there,” Roethlisberger said ahead of Sunday’s game against the Ravens, according to ESPN.

Steelers defender Ben Roethlisberger made his NFL debut in September 2004 against the Ravens.

“And that was Ed Reed and [Haloti] Ngata, [Terrell] Suggestions, [Ray] Lewis. You could have dropped down the whole list of guys, so it was never fun to play these guys. I think it’s a great honor and it will be great. “

Roethlisberger, who finished 11th in the Steelers in April 2004, made his NFL debut in Week 2 against the Ravens in September this year. He replaced the injured Tommy Maddox and made a pair of touches and blocks to his opponent, who lost 30-13.

Roethlisberger then finished his first season in 2004 by being named the “Best Forward of the Year”. He won two Super Cups in the 2005 and 2008 seasons and won the Pro Bowl six times, among other awards.

Roethlisberger’s career could last at least another week as the Steelers are yet to be eliminated from the playoffs. To get to the next season, Pittsburgh had to beat Baltimore, Jacksonville had to beat the Colts, and the Chargers-Raiders game didn’t end in a draw.

The 2021 season has long been predicted to be the last for Rothlisberger. The 39-year-old defender has averaged 3,496 yards in 15 games this season, as well as 21 touchdowns and nine interceptions.

On Monday
In Monday’s game against the Browns, Ben Roethlisberger spent some time with the crowd at Heinz Field.

Roethlisberger’s last home game in Pittsburgh on Monday night was a 26-14 win over the Steelers Browns.

While Sunday’s game in Baltimore serves as a salute to the Ravens ’great Terrell Suggs, the Steelers’ victory pays homage to Roethlisberger’s career in the Hall of Fame.
