Forgive and forget.
Ben Affleck is so good that Snoop Dogg has confused his name.
The 50-year-old rapper was thrilled last month when he mispronounced Affleck’s name while reading Golden Globe nominees.
When Snoop announced his Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actor for the drama The Tender Bar, the Jin and Juice rapper called him Been Afflay.
“I’m sorry, Ben Affleck, this is sorry for Ben!” Snoop said after a small jolt.
Affleck, 49, appeared on the Kelly Clarkson show earlier this week, and he responded to the snaf.
Affleck told host Kelly Clarkson, “He’s a little less focused, yes.”
“It’s funny because I’ve always been big and I’m like,‘ Affleck? What an incredibly ugly name. Now it looks like a duck advertisement, ”he joked, noting that his name would be similar to the name of the insurance company Aflac.
The Argo director added that as a child, he did not understand why his parents were careful to say their names on the phone. He said his parents always make sure their names have the letter “F, like in Frank.”
“I’ve always been like this: why did they always do that? And as I began to review the letters, I realized, “Mr. and Mrs. ASSLICK,” Affleck quipped.
Snoop also confused his name when he read Belfast star Siaran Hinds ’nomination. Long Beach resident: “Keron, I’m sorry, Karen Hinds, work with me now!”
He also called Dune director Denis Villenev “Dennis the Evil Uavver” while reading in the “Best Director, Movie” nomination.
The Golden Globes take place on Sunday, January 9 – but there are no spectators, celebrities or red carpets. Details of the live broadcast are unknown at this time.
