Meat Loaf dies at 74: Bat Out Of Hell singer dies with wife Deborah

American singer Meat Loaf, best known for her song Bat Out Of Hell, has died at the age of 74 after selling more than 100 million albums worldwide and starring in 65 films.
The singer, whose real name is Michael Lee Aday, has died along with his wife, Deborah. He has had a remarkable career for sixty years with the Bat Out Of Hell trilogy, one of his most popular musical offerings.
In 2016, he was awarded the Hero Award at the annual Q Awards music ceremony, which is dedicated to everyday heroes and calls people to “return love to this world”.
A statement posted by the star’s family on the star’s Facebook page this morning reads: “Our hearts go out to announce the death of the incomparable Meat Bread tonight with his wife Deborah. They were with him for the last 24 hours.
“His remarkable career spanned sixty years, selling more than 100 million albums worldwide and starring in more than 65 films, including Fight Club, Focus, Rocky Horror Picture Show and Wayne’s World. Bat Out of Hell remains one of the top ten best-selling albums of all time.
The message said: “We know how important it is to many of you and we sincerely appreciate all the love and support as we go through the sad time of losing such an inspiring artist and beautiful person. Thank you for understanding our need. From His heart to your hearts … never stop shaking! ‘
