A Los Angeles County nurse was hospitalized in critical condition after being attacked by a homeless man in downtown on Thursday, officials said.

An unidentified nurse was attacked on Acesparks 11 Street in Los Angeles after 5 a.m. at the Union Station bus stop on E. Cesar Chaves Avenue. reported.

According to law enforcement, a homeless 40-year-old man punched the nurse in the head during the attack, causing her to fall and hit her head on the ground.

According to Acesparks 11, the ER trauma nurse was rushed to a hospital where she was undergoing brain surgery.
