Alt-J They shared a new track called “Hard Drive Gold” which is the latest single from their new album “Dream”.

Enthusiastic and strange song – with repeated hatred “Don’t be afraid to make money, babyAlong with the video, it also features vocalist Joe Newman’s directorial debut.

Keyboardist Gus Unger-Hamilton, speaking of the new track, said: “Hard Drive Gold is a bit of a language song written at the height of the cryptocurrency gold noise, as we think.

“It’s a childhood fantasy, a story about a schoolboy who became a millionaire overnight and his various relationships, from his teachers to his neighbors. How ridiculously you interpret his message is entirely up to you … “

Commenting on the Surreal music video, Newman said, “After growing up enjoying the film so much, I saw our music videos as a convenient moment to create pure stories for directors, and that’s why we didn’t appear in our group videos. Avoiding the shortening of the band playing in “Airplane Hook,” viewers could focus on the film through the Indian band’s music video tropics.

He continued: “I had ideas for the videos I submitted to the directors to develop, it inspired me to see the directors implement some of these ideas, and now I want to understand the process more deeply and experiment.”

Hard Drive Gold comes after the word “Get Better” the band came out in November Along with news about the 2022 tour and first single across the UK and Ireland ‘U&ME’.

The trio also announced a prize draw to win a handwritten Larrivee P-05 guitar – a guitar model that Newman used when writing “Dream”.

All proceeds from the game will go to Plan International, a global children’s charity that works to promote sustainable equality for girls and protect the rights of all children in more than 50 countries. You can join here.

“The Dream” will be released on February 11 via Infectious Music / BMG and will be available pre-order now. The UK tour begins in Glasgow on May 7 and ends in Birmingham at the end of the month. The group in November Announced additional tour dates in London and Dublin.

In other news, drummer Tom Green spoke about last month a return to a tour of the pandemic as a person considered clinically very vulnerable. The musician has a rare genetic disorder, which means he had to have a kidney transplant during his student days.

“We just need to be vigilant,” he said BBC. “What we have to do, we do, because it’s very worth going on stage again.”
