Alan Carr and his wife, Paul Drayton, divorced after 13 years together and three years of marriage.
A spokesman for the 45-year-old comedian made the announcement on Friday and said the couple had “made a difficult decision to divorce together and amicably”.
Paul, 50, pleaded guilty to drunken driving in November last year, and Alan spoke openly about helping her husband fight alcoholism.

In a statement to the PA news agency on Friday, the spokesperson said: “After 13 years of marriage and three years of marriage, Alan Carr and Paul Dryton want to announce their divorce.
“They have made a difficult decision to divorce together and amicably and go their separate ways. We ask that their personal inviolability be respected at this delicate time.”
A November trial found Paul guilty of drunken driving at Brighton Magistrates and he got behind the wheel and drove four times the legal limit.
He was warned by a judge that he would be arrested told him it was a “miracle” that no one was killed.
Charges: Paul pleaded guilty in November to driving under the influence of alcohol and initially pleaded guilty in a Brighton Magistrates court.
Paul was charged with drunken driving when he returned to a police car and disappeared with his mother, in a Mitsubishi 4×4 car in West Sussex, just three miles from his £ 2.7 million home with Alan.
He initially denied the charges, but pleaded guilty in a Brighton Magistrates court. The case was adjourned for sentencing.
Paul was accused of driving 153 mcg of alcohol in 100 ml of breath – well above the 35 mcg limit – although he initially claimed the breathalyzer was not working properly.
The couple got married in January 2018, and the ceremony was led by Alan’s close friend Adele. The wedding, which Adele also paid for, took place at the singer’s home in California.

Speaking to The One Show shortly after the wedding, Alan said the singer, whom he has known since he was 19, was appointed to perform the marriage himself.
Alan admitted, “Yes, [it was] in January. We were married in Adele’s backyard in Los Angeles. I will not give you zip codes! He has known me and Paul for a long time.
He said, “I want to make your special day. I want to do everything.” He was ordained and he married us. She is the kindest, the sweetest. She flew us to Vegas to see Celine Dion sing. SHE IS [Adele] sang my first dance. It was the best day of my life. “
“It was so cute. I just want to tell everyone. He won’t say because he’s so personal. Flowers, a three-course meal, he planned it all. It was the best day of our lives.”
Alan and Paul tied the knot after a decade of romance and went on a honeymoon in Los Cabos, Mexico.
Opening: In December, 50-year-old Paul said he needed a life-saving operation before Christmas because of a chronic subdural hematoma.
In 2016, when the couple was on vacation in Indonesia, Paul asked a question. Alan thought he had a toothache while eating the dessert – only his beauty showed that he was hiding his engagement ring in the pudding.
Alan talked about Paul’s support in the fight against alcoholism in his 2016 book ALANATOMY.
He said: “I want to be by his side because he is the best thing that has happened to me and I have to support him and everything.”
Paul has a history of alcoholism and went into rehabilitation in 2018, the year he married Carr.
Vigilance: Paul shared a long post on Instagram on January 1 and admitted that 2021 was full of “ups and downs” because he apologized for hurting his loved ones.
Rises and Falls: Paul said he “took responsibility for my actions and I apologize for the injuries I inflicted when I was not there.”
In August 2021, Paul shared a photo of himself with his black eyes on Instagram and within an hour before removing it, he told his fan that “we have a bad fight”.
The next day, he wrote on social media, emphasizing that the comedian “never hit me”: “I feel very weak and I want to say that Alan never hit me and never hit me.
“And I’m upset he has to deal with that today.”
In her statement, shortly after her husband posted the black-eyed image, Alan confirmed that the injury occurred as a result of her “returning to the carriage” and that she was not involved in the incident.
Love: Alan last shared an Instagram photo in June 2021 to celebrate the 13th anniversary of their meeting with Paul.
Alan said she tried to get her husband “the help he needed” after she started drinking again.
Comedian Alan recounted how his sweetheart “fell off the wagon” while on his way to film in Wales, but was working with Paul to help him.
The chat show host said, “When I was at the set for the last few weeks, Paul got out of the car and started drinking again. When I got home from Wales, Paul was scratched and bruised from alcohol.
“We are now working together to get the help we need to improve it, which is our number one priority right now.”

The couple spent the pandemic together in isolation on their farms outside London, while Alan admitted it was “difficult” for his husband to block.
Alan Kelly told the Hoppen podcast in August 2020: “It was hard for Paul during the lockout. He said, “Oh, can we have a bottle?” and I say, “No, rose wine is not included.” He was very good and I am proud of him.
Chatty Man was a non-alcoholic to support her host husband, but then started drinking again. He said: “I love to eat and drink, but it used to be funny – because it was a Monday, we would break a bottle of roses.
“We are out of control,” he said. It was funny, but looking at Paul, I sometimes have to stop the party.

In December, Paul said he needed a life-saving operation because he had a chronic subdural hematoma while riding a horse before Christmas.
Paul explained this she would be “offline for a while” after the news that she needed emergency surgery, as she talked about the procedure in the video.
The problem was discovered after Paul fell off his horse and made an appointment with his doctor because he felt his head was not “right”.
Chronic subdural hematoma (SDH) is a collection of blood on the surface of the brain, under the outer lining of the brain.
Speaking on social media, Paul explained, “I have a chronic subdural hematoma. They are [surgeons] two small holes need to be drilled to drain it. Hopefully in the coming days.
Before thanking his followers for their “messages and love,” he said, “I won’t be here for a while, but I will read all your messages because it gives me comfort and peace.”
Struggles: Alan talked about Paul’s support in the fight against alcoholism in his 2016 book ALANATOMY (co-described in 2012).
On the same day, Paul addressed his followers in a series of videos posted to his story on his Instagram page: “I am very sorry for myself, but at the same time I feel very guilty because many of you have experienced so many things. I know you’re sorry. ‘
He added: “I feel sad and try not to cry while writing these messages. But I hope you all are well and we can look forward to 2022 even better.”
Paul shared a long post on Instagram on January 1 and admitted that 2021 was full of “ups and downs” as he apologized for hurting his loved ones.
