AEW started with a list of hungry, mostly unknown talents. Since then, they’ve added a lot of heavy hitters to the list, and guys like Joey Janela should be wondering where their TV time has gone.
Keri Silkin wore the Ring of Honor in the heyday of the promotion. Silkin was in charge from 2004 to 2011. Kerry has served as an ambassador since the company was sold to Sinclair Broadcasting. The wrestling business veteran has seen it all during his career in the field.
Silkin recently visited the backstage at All Elite Wrestling. There was a good mood behind the scenes. Kerry said he believes several AEW fighters have begun to worry about their location.
Keri talked to Silkin The Acesparks. Daily About his experience at AEW. Kerry says there is so much talent on the rise that some members of the list have begun to worry. The influx of new talent coming from WWE and the Ring of Honor isn’t really helping.
“There are a lot of guys out there, a lot of guys. I don’t want to name any, but there were guys who flew in to do nothing. It was a very good mood. But because I’ve been behind for 20 years, wrestlers don’t always believe in themselves, they care about their place. I could feel it. Sure, not with Bryan Danielson or Hangman Page, but there are a lot of people out there …
I don’t know where these people are landing. There are a lot of good talents. If we talk to ROH for a second; [Matt] Taven, Dalton Castle, undoubtedly Briscoe, has many names, Vincent, who worked on his protagonist Shane Taylor. These are determined people, and if you or I are running a show, I think we want to have them. “
Keri Silkin said she hopes the Honor Ring is back. ROH took a break to reorganize in the face of a changing struggle landscape.
