John Morrison was one of the best things about WWE television after his return back in 2019. He was eventually released by WWE despite his accomplishments. AEW was also dragged for how they have booked him so far.

The former WWE Superstar made his debut in AEW as Johnny Elite in the men’s Owen Hart Foundation Tournament. He had a solid match against Samoa Joe but was not able to pick up the win.

At AEW Double Or Nothing, Johnny Elite was defeated by a returning Miro as well. While speaking on the Keepin ‘It 100 podcast, Konnan dragged AEW for bringing in Johnny Elite just to have him get beaten in his matches.

“I don’t know why they brought him in to do two f ** king jobs. The guy [Johnny Elite] looks great. He’s great on the promo. He’s a good guy. He can still bring it. That was f ** king stupid. He’s fresh off a WWE TV. I don’t understand why they did that. I don’t think he signed, by the way, but I don’t understand why they brought him in with so many other guys you could have done that with just to bury Morrison. ”

Johnny Elite has not signed a full-time contract yet with AEW. However, the two parties could certainly come to an agreement if they want to. We’ll have to see what the company will decide in the end.
