Nate Diaz’s UFC contract expires soon and Stockton fans ’favorite could become the next MMA fighter to switch to boxing. Is there an opponent who is better than YouTuber Jake Paul in his boxing debut?
Dias has yet to comment on the much-ridiculed game, but teammate Chris Avila believes it would be “easy money” if Diaz is considered one of the best boxers in MMA.
“I was depressed to see this fight [between Nate and Jake Paul]“Paul and Woodley II said Avila, who fought in the anchor MMA Fighting representative Damon Martin in a recent interview. “But when you fight Nate Diaz, you’ll have the most real fighter out there. So these guys sit here calling his name and eventually he gets into the boxing ring and I’m so glad to see that. “It’s his choice to whom to box. It’s easy to give a stamp and a statement in boxing.”
“Jake Paul’s fight, Jake Paul’s team is zero, we’re already one,” he added. “That last fight was a fight between Paul-Diaz, the team and the team, and Jake Paul did it. They have already dropped below one. So if he wanted to go to the ring with Nate or me, we would both be fine. I know I can win this battle. I know Nate will win this fight. Easy money. “
Diaz may have only one fight left until his contract with the UFC expires, but as the UFC has reportedly extended his contract until mid-2022, he will not be able to box Paul until the earliest summer.
Diaz, 36, was last seen at UFC 263 and he decided unanimously to Leon Edwards. In the last four fights he has been 1-3.
