Four people were killed and another was injured in a shooting at a home in the Los Angeles area early Sunday morning, according to local reports and city officials.
The shooting happened around 1:30 a.m. in Inglewood, a city of about 100,000 people, 10 miles southeast of downtown Los Angeles.
Three people were reported killed at the scene. This was reported by Acesparks 11. Ambulance crews rushed two more people to the hospital. One of them is expected to survive, while the other died on the way to the hospital, CBS2 reports.
The victims were reportedly two women and two men.
talk to reporters On Sunday morning, Inglewood Mayor James Butts described the shooting as an “ambush” involving several gunmen, including a rifle and a handgun. The mayor noted that this is the highest number of single-shot shootings in Inglewood since the 1990s.

“These are social killers who need to be isolated from society,” Butts said of the shooters. “Submit yourself. We’ll find you and take you to court.”
Police did not disclose the potential cause or say whether any of the victims were targeted. Officers interviewed witnesses and toured the neighborhood to search for security camera images.

The surviving man confessed to being a member of a street gang in another city, and investigators are trying to determine if the shooting was related to the gang. This was reported by CBS2.
Inglewood is home to the SoFi Stadium, where next month’s Super Cup will be held.
