A Houston on Monday, he was arrested after he got into a woman’s face over a scuffle and then fired several shots at a police officer.
Houston Police Senior Officer Dertment Police, S. Cleveland, who has served 11 years and is the father of three children, was hit in the arm and abdomen, but his bulletproof jacket protected his middle. He was rushed to a local hospital, where he was scheduled to undergo surgery and recover on Tuesday.
Michael Zakari, 26, was Howard-Dale arrested who was at the scene and was charged with aggravated assault against a civil servant.
Initially, officers were called to the artment complex after a woman said Howard-Dale was standing in front of her during a rking argument.

When police tried to contact Howard-Dale in creating his work, he allegedly refused to comply with the requirements or present identification documents. Eventually the officers tried to arrest him and a fight broke out.
Howard-Dale pulled out a pistol during the altercation and fired several shots.
Houston Police Chief Troy Finner said Monday that another officer “immediately got his hands dirty” to take control of Howard Dale and arrest him.
“Gloves in battle, when you’re close, sometimes you don’t even have the opportunity to draw a gun, and you have to extend your hand,” Finner said Monday outside HCA Houston Healthcare Kingwood Hospital, where Cleveland is recovering.
Mayor of Houston Sylvester Turner said so he talked to his wife in Cleveland and asked her to pray for the family.
“The officer simply responded to the call for harassment and then suddenly this person started firing,” Turner said at a news conference Monday.
He added: “Even when events don’t seem to be what I call dangerous, they can turn into a dangerous situation when a penny falls.”
